Local Grain

Local GrainIf you haven’t met Kimberly the artist and owner of Local Grain, now is your chance! Kimberly is full of creativity, energy and kindness. She has been creating  and carving beautiful pieces of art, beautiful home decor, all natural baby teethers, jewellery, family signs, shop signs, and are all made out of pieces of beautiful wood ever since she finished her studies at Emily Carr.

After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Kimberley Francis found her father’s wood tools. She currently blends her whimsical illustration with the natural grain of the wood, and brings contemporary motifs to traditional woodworking processes.

Her company, local grain, speaks to the character present in the grain of each piece, and celebrates returning back to her hometown of chilliwack, to launch her professional practice.
